OmniCT

OmniCT oil is fractioned coconut oil in order to have the Long-chain triglycerides (LCT) removed producing a Medium-chain triglyceride (MCT) product. The length of the triglyceride is dependent on the number of carbon-atoms within the fatty-acid chains. LCTs are predominantly found in the fats consumed in a normal diet.

Due to MCTs having shorter fatty-acid chains it is not only absorbed more rapidly but also digested quicker by the gastrointestinal tract (GIT) when compared to LCTs. Due to the rapid metabolic conversion of MCTs to energy, the energy is not stored as fat but immediately used by the organs and muscles. Due to the manner MCTs are digested, MCTs also have an increased ketone formation which is beneficial in the Ketogenic diet.
